De Oscar iba la cosa...

El domingo, más bien el lunes de madrugada aquí en España tuvo lugar la 84º edición de los premios Oscar, una edición que se presentaba con un claro favorito "The Artist", una pequeña joya, que tras su alabanza en Cannes fue cosechando premios y alagos hasta terminar la noche con 5 Oscar, 5 esperados premios. Y es que en torno a lo previsto fue la entrega de los galardones que pocas sorpresas nos deparó. Una de las sorpresas más desagradables fue cuando "Hugo" le arrebató a "El árbol de la vida" el Oscar de mejor fotografía, algo incomprensible, cuando el trabajo de fotografía de esta última es superlativo, uno de los mejores de los últimos años. "Hugo" no paró de cumplir pronósticos, pero a la vez de dar sorpresas como fue también el caso del premio a los mejores efectos visuales, previsto para "El origen del Planeta de los Simios" o tal vez para el mago Potter, que despidió la saga completa sin ningún Oscar. La academia no quería dejar que el film de Scorsese fuera el gran naufragio de la noche, dejando este puesto a "War horse" y "Moneyball". Plummer, Spencer, Dujardin y Streep, esta última con bastantes dudas hasta el final, cumplieron los pronósticos. Los momentos de la noche, fueron el alabado y merecidísimo premio para Meryl Streep y la emotiva entrega del Oscar a mejor actriz secundaria para Octavia Spencer. Todo fue excesivamente escaso de emociones, demasiado previsible, incluso el mismo Billy Cristal condujo la ceremonia con excesiva corrección y sin apenas lucidez. Pero lo peor de la fiesta de los Oscar, fue sin duda esa desastrosa alfombra roja, donde la más bella y mejor vestida fue Jessica Chastain, seguida de Penélope Cruz, Michelle Williams, Angelina Jolie y Rooney Mara. Un año de cine bastante bueno y variado frente a unos Oscars predecibles, sosos y políticamente demasiado correctos.
